ADHD in Women: The Invisible Link

Ahead of our full day masterclass, Dr Judith presents an introduction to ADHD and women's health.

Online Webinar

Service Description

Many women first notice ADHD traits during perimenopause or menopause, when hormone shifts make long-standing symptoms harder to ignore. If you feel more forgetful, overwhelmed, emotionally sensitive or constantly behind, you are not alone. This friendly, expert-led taster session is designed for women who are navigating menopause and either have ADHD or suspect they might. In a compact, accessible format, you will learn what is going on in your brain and body, why symptoms can intensify at midlife, and which first steps can help you feel more in control. What you will learn: • Why menopause increases vulnerability to depression and anxiety and what oestrogen is actually doing in the brain • The (controversial) history of HRT and what we now understand • How sex hormones directly affect the brain and mental health • Why oestrogen can be protective for mood and cognition • Why ADHD is underdiagnosed in women and a risk factor for mental health conditions • Why women with ADHD (diagnosed or not) are more vulnerable during hormonal shifts - including premenstrually, postpartum and in menopause
