ARC 2: Emotion Regulation for ADHD

Learn practical, evidence-based emotion regulation skills including Wise Mind, validation, dialectical thinking and Opposite Action

Understand why emotion regulation can be especially challenging with ADHD, including vulnerability factors, impulsivity, avoidance and sensory overwhelm

Explore the purpose of core emotions (such as anger, fear, sadness, joy, shame and guilt) and recognise how they show up in your body, thoughts and action urges

Learn skills that help to reduce emotional intensity and self-criticism by learning to validate yourself and move beyond black-and-white thinking

Develop tools designed to combat Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria and shame, including structured “repair” processes

Funding and Financial Support for ARC:
We recognise that ARC is a significant financial investment and there are a number of avenues of support that may help make the programme more accessible.
For adults in Great Britain who have an ADHD diagnosis:
Adults in (or soon to be in) paid work in may receive some or all of the cost of ARC funded through an Access to Work Grant.

Reasonable Adjustments as part of employment:
Participation in ARC may be considered a reasonable adjustment that your employer may be willing to fund.
Many organisations recognise the value of supporting staff with evidence-based programmes and a number of previous participants of ARC have had the course funded by their employer.
